Aim and scope
The Journal of Human Geography and Sustainable Development is a peer-reviewed journal positioned at the intersection of human geography, regional science, and sustainability science, with a distinctive focus on spatial dimensions of sustainable development in emerging and transitional economies.
The journal concentrates on:
- Emphasizing place-based and spatially explicit analyses of development processes;
- Bridging theoretical advances with policy-relevant insights, particularly in rapidly transforming socio-economic contexts;
- Promoting interdisciplinary integration across naturual and social sciences, with openness to methodological innovation, including quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods approaches;
- Providing a dedicated platform for developing countries, especially from Asia and Vietnam, contributing to a more balanced and inclusive global knowledge base.
- By combining human geography’s spatial lens with sustainability science and regional development studies, the journal aims to advance scholarly debates on how territories evolve, how inequalities are shaped across space, and how sustainable development can be effectively governed and implemented.
